Dragon Boat Festival
The Dragon Boat Festival was brought about to celebrate the Asian community. This was our first year attending, and had a blast. One end of the festival demonstrated traditions from Japan and China. The other end, demonstrated the Polynesian traditions. Then in the middle, was the lake where they held dragon boat races. There were 18 rowers, a drummer in the back, and a person hanging over the front who grabbed the flag at the finish line. It was quite entertaining to watch. The only down fall that day was that it was 100 degrees. That alone sucks, but mixed with the smell of garlic = naussea :( Yuck, and I'm not even pregnant,

Don't mess with bedtime
Here are some before and after shots of the girls at the Moonlight Classic. Seeming how it was way past each of girls bedtime, they did pretty well. Each were clapping and smiling in the beginning, fussing and poking at each other in the middle, and asleep at the end. It was definitely a long night for them. Thanks for being such little troopers.
Saturday Night Bike Ride
Moonlight Classic - a 20 mile bike ride around downtown Denver. We had so much fun, and what a GREAT way to get to know an area. The race started at 9:30 P.M., and we didn't cross the finish line until after 12:30 A.M. We rode with four of our friends, and just casually strolled through the streets of Denver. Not only was it a great saturday night activity, but we were also able to get some exercise while doing it!!

Happy Birthday Livi
On July 4th, our little Livi turned 1. Since we were still in Utah, we had a little party at my parents house. We cooked out hamburgers, played in the pool, bashed a cute little bee pinata, and ate cake. All outside in the super hot 100 degree weather. As most of you know that when you order a cake for a 1st birthday, most bakeries will throw in a bash cake. There was a lot of cake left after Olivia had dug into hers, and so I thought it would be funny to bash the remaining amount into Chiki's face. For those of you who know him, know that it is nearly impossible to pull a trick like that on him. I decided to give it a shot anyway. With my good luck, Chiki noticed my actions while checking his sunglasses. Long story short, I ended up with the bash cake in my face. I can totally laugh about it now, and I wish we had taken pictures.
Too much excitement
In most areas, the fireworks are on the 4th of July. But in the small town where I am from, they are the night before. You go hours before they actually begin in order to get a good place to sit. The girls had a blast playing and eating, but by the time the fireworks actually began little Olivia could barely keep her eyes open. She ooed and awed through the first few but after a few minutes, I looked over and found her sleeping on grandpa's lap. Oh well, she will have many more years to enjoy them.
Fun at Grandpa and Grandma's in Utah
After the big'ol family vacation in Jackson, we headed back to Utah with the rest of my family to spend the 4th of July. To simply put it, Chiki and I needed some more time to relax before jumping back into the real world. Relax, is definitely what we were able to do and it was great. We were also able to get in some golfing, shooting, pool time, pedicures, roast marshmellows, and of course some good old quality time with the fam. Thanks grandpa and grandma for letting us veg at your house for an entire week. We love you!!
Trip to Jackson
Normally Chiki and I end up going on vacation alone, but this time we decided to make it a true family vacation and take the girls. Not only that but my entire family also joined. We had a blast. It had been years since I last visited the area, and had forgotten how desolate the area where Old Faithful is located, really is. The funniest part, is that while we were up in Yellowstone we were some of the few non foreigners there. We were able to see all sorts of animals (even Bigfoot :)), raft the snake river, and most important of all take in all of the beautiful scenery. The Carb's had a great family vacation!!
