Miss Liv caught her first fish, and then some.  To be exact ... four.  She totally skunked the rest of us that day.  Way to go little lady.  You all ready hold them like a pro!

Slight Elevation

While Sulema & crew, were out here ... we thought that we would show these sea level dwellers some true elevation. Therefor, we headed to Rocky Mountain National Park .  It is always a favorite place of mine.  The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and is so serene.

There is a road that is only open from May until October called Trail Ridge Road.  It is the highest continuous road in the United States, and at the highest point reaches 12,183 ft

Sam vs Food

If you watch the show Man vs. Food on the Travel channel, you will be excited for this post!  There we were in Boulder one night talking about the show, and realized wait ... what the heck ... didn't they just do a show in Boulder about hot wings?  After a little bit of research .... sure enough!

Sam, being the totally awesome person that he is ... let us all talk him into it.

The challenge: to eat 50 wings within 30 minutes
The prize: your picture on their wall of fame, a t-shirt, 10 free bonus wings, and your first 50 wings on the house

Sam is being read the rules
And here he is signing his life away
The goods ... all 50 wings

The manager brought out a timer for Sam, and off he went.  Look close ... those wings are giant and not to mention were also a  little tough.

And he is off.  Just look at the determination on his face
Plowing right through those babies
Now we are concerned

When the 30 minutes came to an end, Sam had eaten 26 out of the 50 wings.  That is when we found out that Adam from Man vs Food, also had a hard time conquering the task.  Apparently, he only made it through half.

Sam stated that the hardest part of eating the wings, wasn't the heat but the loads of butter that was used in the wing sauce.  It coated his entire mouth, making it hard to swallow.  Thanksgiving dinner is going to seem super healthy to him, after this ha ha.

Sam and his big pile of bones

Sam did awesome, considering that not even an hour before heading to the West End Tavern ... he and Chiki had just devoured 3 dozen wings, at the Boulder Beer Company

Sam, if you thought the engagement ring made it official for you & Sulema ...boy were you wrong.  But no worries ... you are so in now!

A Little R & R With The Cousins

These little ladies, all get along so well.  I just had to post some of the fun things, they did together!

The Denver Zoo.  It was 102 degrees that day.  They all trooped it out and did great

American Girl

Last week, we were excited to have cousins Allie & Bri come out to play.  We started the trip out right, at the American Girl Store.  Chiki & I have been telling the ladies since the store opened in Denver, that they could get some dolls when their cousins came out.  For Hannah, this day couldn't have come soon enough.

The ladies posing in front of the store (Miss Liv had had it)

Hannah hasn't put her doll down since

I guess this activity was more so for Hannah, because Olivia didn't really care about the process (the fact that it was nap time probably didn't help).  Both girls chose, to make their own look alike. Hannah's doll has dark brown hair, insanely blue eyes, and pierced ears.  As for Olivia's doll ... we came as close to her as we could.  Her doll has lighter brown hair, blue eyes, and we bought the hair set to make her hair curly.  Both dolls are really cute!

Sam & Chiki ... way to hang in there ha ha!  The American Girl Store is a whole lot of girl to take in all at once.  You guys, were definitely troopers!!

She Did It!

Learned to ride her bike that is.  It really only took her a day, and once Hannah caught on ... she was GONE.  She can finally join us on our bike rides!

Miss Olivia Turns 3

July 4th
My little lady turned 3 on, the 4th of July.  Whoever came up with the term terrible 2's, was full of crap.  Not only does the naughtiness last throughout the entire age of 2, but continues on and even gets worse at 3.  Olivia is the biggest sassafras, is great at throwing tantrums, and knows how to push peoples buttons .... but you can't help but LOVE this girl.  She may be naughty but one look into her big blue eyes, hearing her say "pwetty pwease," or one big hug from this cute little cuddle bug ... will absolutely melt your heart.  Through good times and naughty times, we are happy she is in our family

Got to love this sweet face
The Festivities
We decided to start the party off right at the White Fence Farm.   It is this really cute old-fashioned, farm style restaurant.  They have a playground, craft shops, farm animals, a snack bar, carriage rides, and yummy country style.  We had a great time!

Um mm ... my yummy turkey dinner

Getting ready for the carriage ride

Funny story: just above the snack bar, is also a kiddy play area.  We thought that Jeremiah and Chiki were upstairs "keeping an eye" on the ladies, and so the rest of us decided to kick back and relax and try some of the old-fashioned sodas.  These sodas were beyond carbonated.  While we were downstairs burping it up, the guys were upstairs snoring away on the couches.

Since we had just gotten back from Utah, I didn't have the chance to put my skills to the test and make another cake.  Instead, we chose ice cream cupcakes from Cold Stone.  As for myself, I didn't eat one (we all know why), but they looked delish!

In years to come, I have a feeling that this little lady is going to keep me on my toes.  I wouldn't have it any other way though, and am so happy she is here with us.
 HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!

Baseball Game

This is my absolute most favorite time of the year.  No school, it's hot outside, the watermelon and corn on the cob, water parks, and BASEBALL!
Nothing screams 4th of July and all-american, more then a great night of baseball, ball park food, and fireworks.  I love this little tradition that we have started.

The crew at Coor's Field (we missed you Cam's & little cuz)

Mr. Music during the 7th inning stretch
Uncle Jer & his infamous air ball catch.  Still no baseball, but he did catch a T-shirt
Where's Waldo?  He is the one in orange ... can you find him??
Hannah was trying so hard to catch one of those dang t-shirts.  Maybe next year
Can you see why I love this game!  Not an empty seat in sight
Finally ... the grand finale
